My body weight was 136 today. I don't think I'm going to compete at 123 for a while. I'm getting a little tired of having to stay the same weight as an eleven-year-old girl. Bring on the fatness and a 300lb raw bench.

Awesome dude :!: I'm older'n dirt in the 242's, and going for a 405 raw bench with no belt or wraps. Right now doing 5x5 with a 2 minute break between sets with 300 pounds once a week for 3 months, and adding weight every 2 or 3 weeks. I'll stay with this until I see a meet coming up that I want to enter, and then go into a 8 week peaking cycle using triples. 8-)

Nice workout, bro.

Did you do any assitance work or just the benching?

@ asiapower
Yeah, getting old sucks. I turned 38 today and strength gains seem harder and harder to come by. Good luck with the 405.
@BigBaby
Thanks, I only do the reps listed on heavy bench day. I do other assistance work throughout the week, but no real chest work.

My first workout being 38-years-old.

Not feeling great so I cut it short. USAPL updated their records and I was given the National bench only record for the 123 open raw division. I don't know if I should be happy or upset to have my name in the record book with that sorry 209 bench. I thought if I didn't turn in the paperwork no one would notice. ;)

So, I'm 19th on the Fit Expo lightweight bench list...19th out of 19. I guess it's not that bad. My qualifying lift was done in a t-shirt. Maybe I'll try the shirt again in a couple years when I'm 40. Hopefully we'll have a raw division at the state championship (wink, wink).

So it looks like I'll have a new weight class in the usapl. No more 123 or 132 in the ipf, now it's 130. I'm pretty sure that I won't bother with 123 in the uspa either. I'll stick with the 132 raw for uspa. I think I'll go to a one board next week and give the 285 a try.

So I was looking through the calendar of coming events...holy cow there's a bunch of color-coded goodness. A raw state championship...say it isn't so. Meets up and down the state...and across the country. Planning what meet to do is going to take a little strategy. Definitely in for the meet in March. Anyway, take a look at the calendar; it's a rainbow of powerlifting excitement. :D
