A lot of people are under the false impression that powerlifting is only good for competition. As an emergency responder in a place where many of the people are in excess of 300 pounds, I can tell you that powerlifting makes rescuing these people from a chemically contaminated environment in a fully encapsulated suit with the ability to get them to safety quickly, increases their chances of survival 10 fold. I encourage them to come to the gym with me, but most of them won't go. They are still my inspiration to stay strong, and get stronger. Does anyone else have any examples of how powerlifting can help in day-to-day living?
Nothing wrong with being strong
